American Embassy building in Copenhagen, Denmark, opened on May 27.  From Tom Mix Capt USMC Ret'd "When I  first arrived in Copenhagen in April the embassy was located in a buisness building near Kongens Nytorv.  We had the top floor and stood watch in civilian clothes.  Marines wore a shoulder holster with a .38 revolver.  In those days we had two posts, one at the embassy and one with a MAAG Group at the Danish Army Kaserne near Triangle.  The watch standers would spend one month at each post then trade.  When the new embassy opened in June we wore blues, no blouse.....Also the watch standers only stood duty during the closed times (nights, weekends and holidays) for the embassy."  The NCOIC was on duty during business hours.
