   American Staff Compound
located at 241/2 Lower Circular Road.  

The MSG detachment occupied two apartments in this complex in       1961, a big improvment over the old Harington St. mansion, but 2 or 3 miles from the AmConGen.  

The Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebrations were held in the pavilion area to the left in the photograph

The MSG detachment put on a pageant of Marine History with each

 MSG uniformed to represent a specific period in that history.

held at Consul General William O. Baxter's residence.

Crowds gathered at the American Consulate to pay respects to President Kennedy and sign Book of Condolence from 23NOV to 26NOV63.
