1960   American Consulate General Building.
Located at 5/1 Harington Street.  

: (Jim Harkins) NOTE, a new consulate building was constructed  in the 1970s.

   American Staff Compound
located at 241/2 Lower Circular Road.  

The MSG detachment occupied two apartments in this complex in       1961, a big improvment over the old Harington St. mansion, but 2 or 3 miles from the AmConGen.  

The Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebrations were held in the pavilion area to the left in the photograph

The MSG detachment put on a pageant of Marine History with each

 MSG uniformed to represent a specific period in that history.

Jack notes they had to borrow a hunting rifle as Calcutta was an unarmed detachment.
