I was just scanning your site and saw the reference to Brazzaville 1997, and the former Marine house employee's search for GySgt Upchurch. Just some history: I served under then-SSgt Upchurch in 1991-92 as a watchstander in Amman, Jordan, where he was the Detachment Commander. As he and I were both 2500's, we met up again for a short time in 1994-95 at 9th Comm Bn. I was released from active duty in July 1995, but spent the summers of 1997 and 1998 at Quantico for OCS. It was in that summer of 1997 that I toured MSG Bn Headquarters and discovered that Gunny Upchurch had managed to hook up again with the program, had been decorated in connection with the Brazzaville evacuation, and was awaiting orders for another post. We exchanged addresses, Unfortunately, I lost track of him after that. I just ran a Zabasearch on him, and found him in the mid-eastern US. Semper Fi. Jason W. Crowell
